Synchronizing mechanics

Synchronizing via the menu

Synchronizing is an exclusive mechanic only available for bards and minstrels. You can synchronize to an ally so that affected spells that the bard or minstrel cast will instead occur around the synchronized ally instead of around you. This is to facilitate buffing in group content and also to kite targets at a safe distance by synchronizing with the tank, for example.

You can synchronize with an ally by typing Synchronize "Playername, and you will then be tethered to that player. If you wish to undo the synchronization, simply type Synchronize and you will be unlinked from any synchronized players.

You can also synchronize by right clicking the desired player and then click on Sync with playername, as shown in the image.

Performance mode

For bard exclusively, you can alter your gameplay to be more support focused (suitable for parties) or damage focused (suitable when you are alone). In order to change between those two modes, the bard must cast Performance Style "Soloist or Performance Style "Orchestra for the changes to apply. A few spells will have a different behavior when done on either modes.
