PVP Feedback Collection - Share Your Opinion!

Hey everyone! We wanted to take a moment to sit down with you and have an honest conversation about something we know has been on many of your minds: PVP in BlackTalon. We recognize that it has been somewhat overlooked over time, largely due to the complexity of class balancing and the way characters scale, and we want to change that. We want PVP to be something genuinely worth playing and fun, and to get there, we need your help.
Our team has been drafting some ideas about how a new PVP system could work. We want to share these concepts with you and hear what you think before any decisions are made. Nothing here is final, this is purely an exchange of ideas.

Pacifist or Combatant: Choosing Your Path

The first proposal is a system where, the first time you log into your character, you would be required to choose between two modes: Pacifist or Combatant.
Choosing Pacifist means:

  • You cannot participate in the Guild Castle event
  • You can only hunt in PVE areas and are unable to enter PVP maps
  • You cannot be attacked or attack other players, you are fully protected
  • There is no experience penalty for choosing this mode

Choosing Combatant means:

  • You earn a 10% bonus experience gain
  • Experience lost on PVP death is reduced, to roughly two levels for example (placeholder value), because we understand that losing a large amount of experience and levels can be discouraging, especially when dying repeatedly in player combat
  • Your killer, or you when you make a kill, inherits 75% of the experience lost by the defeated player
  • Each spell used on a target applies a 3% healing reduction debuff, plus 1% per basic attack, alternatively this debuff could be applied over time in combat, at roughly 4% per second up to a cap of 80%
  • The Guild Castle would be split into two modes: Mode 1 equalizes all player strength, as it works today, and Mode 2 uses your real character power from the open world
  • Castle schedules would rotate to keep things fair, so if the real-power castle happens in the morning one day, it would happen at night the next
  • Each dominated castle grants 10% bonus experience, stackable up to 30% if you dominate both castles (10 + 10 + 10)

Switching Between Modes

To prevent players from freely swapping back and forth, switching modes would have a 7-day cooldown after the first change and would also require paying a significant fee.

Your Voice Matters

We will be posting a dedicated poll so you can share your thoughts more directly. Remember: nothing here has been decided yet. This is a conversation between us and you, the community, and your feedback will genuinely shape what comes next.
